News Flash:
Contrary to the rumour that "The Hundred Miles from Nowhere
Band" died an untimely death, I have it on good authority that the 3 remaining members have
been hiding out and have been diligently practicing, doing their best to resurrect the band from the ashes.....
The
band will carry on as "Hundred Miles From Nowhere". They have made some major changes. Melissa
Hixenbaugh has taken on the job as drummer, with Doug Phillips taking on all of the guitar duties (Except in accoustic
sets), and Chuck Hixenbaugh remains on the bass. Their ever loyal security team (Zack & Brock) remain on the job.
Some of their primary influences are, Little Big Town, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones, and of course
Neil Young. The band has performed at various local events such as the Hundred 4th of July Celebration, the Wetzel
County Chamber of Commerce Chilli Cook-off, Wileyville's Homecoming Celebration and the Waynesburg Rain Day Celebration.Their
first performance as a group to the public was at the Spot Bar and Restaurant located just outside of Hundred, WV. They
have also written a self-titled song for the band cleverly named “Hundred Miles from Nowhere.”
