Just a couple things
you should know. About 3 weeks ago we decided to enter the Town & Country Days "Battle of the Bands". We knew
that to make a decent showing we needed to get Melissa off the drums and back out front. Doug and Chuck just
weren't pretty enough. So to make a long story short, Melissa put in an emergency call to our original drummer, Kevin, and
begged him to sit in with us.
As luck would have it, he agreed to do the "Battle of the Bands" and "Chuckstock IV" and maybe
more. Keeping our fingers crossed!!!!!!!.
As a lot of you know "Battle of the Bands" was Friday night and we were
lucky enough to place 2nd out of nine good bands. Thank you Kevin, couldn't have done it without ya!!!!
Also would like to thank all the people that showed up to support "Hundred Miles From Nowhere" and believe me, they came
out in force from all over. Which brings me to my next bit of news.
Just finished putting up 5 new videos
from the competition and if you don't believe we had some supporters there, give a listen to the crowd on the videos!!!!!!!!!
They were awesome!!!!!
Also need to thank Scott for taping the
show so we'd have some video to post. There's a little bit of shake in the videos but its not bad, besides what
can you do when the bleachers are rockin' ??? LOL

News Flash: Contrary to
the rumour that "The Hundred Miles from Nowhere Band" died an untimely death, I have it on good authority that the
3 remaining members have been hiding out and have been diligently practicing, doing their best to resurrect the
band from the ashes.....
The band will carry on as "Hundred Miles
From Nowhere". They have made some major changes. Melissa Hixenbaugh has taken on the job as drummer,
with Doug Phillips taking on all of the guitar duties (Except in accoustic sets), and Chuck Hixenbaugh remains on the
bass. Their ever loyal security team (Zack & Brock) remain on the job.
Some of their primary influences are, Little Big Town, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones, and of course
Neil Young. The band has performed at various local events such as the Hundred 4th of July Celebration, the Wetzel
County Chamber of Commerce Chilli Cook-off, Wileyville's Homecoming Celebration and the Waynesburg Rain Day Celebration.Their
first performance as a group to the public was at the Spot Bar and Restaurant located just outside of Hundred, WV. They
have also written a self-titled song for the band cleverly named “Hundred Miles from Nowhere.”
